ठठे "500" part I: What it's all about.

Well there's just about a month until Speedweeks 2010 starts and I'm so stoked! Anyways I decided to make a series of blog posts about the Backyard 500 for preparation for the season and of course the "500". So the Backyard 500 is for sure the most important baba race of a season, and will often be the most exciting. So what makes the "500" so exciting? Well I decided to make a list of what makes the 500 so exciting so here it is. #1. It's the first (points) race of the season! When you've been waiting for about half a year it's going to make you want to race a lot harder just knowing you're back to racing makes yo want to go and win. Also it gives you a taste of what the rest of the season will be like, because you have an extra incentive to do good in the first race because it gives you the mentality that you will do good for the whole season. And when you race harder it makes for exciting races. #2. Give those bricks a kiss! O.k I know you're thinking that's pretty weird, who would want to kiss an old brick wall? Well the winner of the race does! But of course the winner of the race the past three years has been me, so I've been the only brick kisser. Of course you can kiss the bricks at any race but the Backyard 500, rhymes with the Brickyard 500, which that is the race were IRL, and Nascar drivers kiss the bricks. Just a random thing to through in.
#3 The prestige. O.k it's probably every racers dream to win the "500", because in 30 some years their great grandkids will look back and see wow, my great grandparent was the: 20-- Backyard 500 champion! That send chills up my spine thinking how cool that is! I mean what if baba racing becomes real big one day. then you'd be considered like a legend, you'd be the Lee Petty, and Junior Johnson of baba racing. That's just epic! All the prestige the "500" carries.
O.k well that's it for now folks, as Jimmy Jimmy likes to say. Anyways I'll post next week about the 2007 Backyard 500 and what I can remember about it. So until next week.
